Friday Morning Sightings

.

.

This was the first morning I have seen two Peregrine Falcons. They chased each other a couple times. Too far away for pictures but cool to watch.

The Great Blue Heron in the picture above caught an eel. First time I have seen one in the Tennessee River. Caught a lot of them growing up in PA.

  1. Your herons seem to have twice as many feathers as ours, or maybe I just don’t see them enough. They’re pretty wary of people here. That one had quite a neck full of fish!
Love the shot of the bluebird. I wish I’d see more of them too.

It really takes a fast shutter speed to catch the feathers in motion. The heron here near the dams are way less wary than those around the lakes and streams. It is amazing the size of fish birds can get down. It has been nice to see a lot of bluebirds lately. Can’t help but take their pictures.
