Inactive Day

The eagles seemed inactive yesterday. Did not see a single eagle attempt to pick up a fish or even act interested in feeding. The birds seemed content just hanging around. After several warm days my guess is they had no need to feed. The weather was mild after a cool start. The early sunshine disappearing with thunderstorms rolling in before sunset. I am always trying to make connections with what is happening with the wildlife. It was a little windy and in the past it seems like on those days the eagles will make attempts to catch a coot. A lot of the eagles were hanging around areas where there are usually a lot of coots, but I saw very few. With the warm up most of the pelicans have left the dam tailwaters. The knee keeps improving so I got to walk a lot more.

When I would stop to rest I recalled my father who passed away a few years back. It was his birth date. Dad was a story teller. So many of his stories are beginning to slip from my memory. But the warmth of time spent together remains…

  1. I suppose the birds need some time off just like we do but I’m surprised they’d skip eating for a day.
You got some good shots anyway.
I’m glad the knee is getting better!

      New Hampshire Gardener,
It is hard to tell but they do always feed less this time of year when the weather is warm. Some may even shift back north when it has been warmer for several days. Thank You, so nice to be able to walk further.
