I wish there were more eastern bluebirds here in the east.
New Hampshire Gardener,
They are a delight to see. I see a number of them now when I visit eastern Pennsylvania. So maybe they will start showing up in your area in a few years. They stick together at this time of year in a bunch of around six birds. They like to hunt from fences and power lines. The bunch that I took today’s photo were hunting from my daughters deck.
I’ll keep my eyes open. I’ve heard that pesticides all but wiped them out years ago, but I don’t know how true it is.
New Hampshire Gardener,
I believe it was pesticides as the bluebird feed in the fields off fences all the time.
