Wood Ducks At Henry’s Ark

Henry’s Ark is not my normal place to take photos. It was fun though to capture a little brilliant color during these dreary days of winter. I enjoy all the critters at this place but the wood ducks catch my eye the most.

The female wood duck with the teardrop of white around the eye is striking.

The helmet headed male wood duck is even more remarkable in its coloration.

Sitting by this small pond and watching the colorful ducks swimming brought thoughts of spring and all the glorious colors to come in a few months. When the flowers and trees once again go to blooming

They are so pretty and those are excellent photos of them. I see some of them here fairly frequently in summer but never where I can get close enough for a good shot.
