Wild Turkey

I recall the wild turkeys in KY as being extremely wary and intelligent. We have them here in NH too, but they strike me as bumbling buffoons that sometimes wander into traffic. They were reintroduced here in 1972 from what I assume must have been inferior stock.
Are they still wary in KY?
Jomegat,
They are very wary here. They get a lot of hunting pressure here that keeps them that way I think.
I somehow find it comforting that they are not morons everywhere.
A lot of people feed them here, which has made a lot of them lose their fear of us.
New Hampshire Gardener,
Wildlife will adapt to being fed or having a lot of non-threatening human contact and become less wary. The deer here at the subdivision of my daughters most times just stand and watch when they see you. Even watching the dogs until the dogs bark or appear to be coming after them.
Not good for the deer. Dogs will rip them apart here.
